Noise Map

Privacy Policy

Noise Map turns sound into place — sample levels around you, paint a heat layer on the map, and find quieter streets, cafés, or work spots on your iPhone. This page explains what we may access, what stays in your private sound journal, and what we never pass to ad networks or location-data brokers.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Noise Map mobile app on the Apple App Store and to public pages hosted on this domain. It is written for listeners using the app and visitors reading this page.

Information

Noise Map does not require your legal name, email, phone, mailing address, government ID, or payment card for core mapping tools.

Sound readings, map pins, quiet-spot notes, and session labels you add remain for your in-app experience. We do not repurpose them for targeted advertising or resale.

Remote Content

When the app opens optional public material — for example a linked policy or info page — it may load that content from a public URL. Those pages are generic; nothing from your private noise journal is sent upstream.

Microphone & Location

Noise Map may request microphone access to sample ambient levels and location access to place readings on the map — only when you start a measurement. Contacts and the photo library stay unused unless a future feature clearly needs them and this policy is updated.

Device

Samples and map layers stay in on-device storage. Diagnostics you voluntarily share with Apple follow Apple’s privacy terms.

Hosting

Infrastructure partners operate this policy page and any public routes on this domain. They may retain traffic logs needed for security and uptime under their own practices.

Minors

Noise Map is meant for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact App Store support if a minor saved data by mistake and we will help clear it where we can.

Retention & Security

Maps and readings you keep in Noise Map remain under your control on your device. Delete sessions in-app or uninstall to wipe local storage.

We apply reasonable safeguards to hosted assets. No service is perfectly secure — treat noise trails like a private field notebook, not a public feed.

Your Choices

Leave Noise Map whenever you choose. Revoke microphone or location access in iOS Settings for a quieter offline mode where supported.

Updates

We may revise this policy as Noise Map evolves. The date above marks substantive changes. Continued use after an update accepts the new terms where law permits.

Contact

Privacy questions about Noise Map may be sent through the App Store support channel or the developer contact on the product page.
